A New project

I have started a new project where I am designing Air Force's so far i have two, but take a look...I am not quite sure what medium I am going to use.

I might try to send it to NIKE to see if they will pick it up.

GRADUATION!!

sorry i haven't updated in a while, however it has been a crazy couple of weeks! I will be graduating (as an illustration major with a BFA-say what!!!) this Saturday at 4PM at the Johnny Mercer civic center in Savannah from SCAD and can i say i am super excited, I'm on a cloud right now, it has fully hit me yet. I'm sure it will when i throw that cap in the air, or when i get my first student loan check, eekk! I have everything done so now i just have to get to packing, (ill be leaving for Florida on Sun) and cleaning-god knows that need to be done :)

I'm super excited and cant wait to see what every thing has in store for me...we shall see..

i swear that after everything settles i will be better at updating

SKETCHBOOK MONDAY

so i decided that i will once a month scan in my sketchbook of the things I've been working on to show you, so here is some of my sketch book.
i like to just go crazy with pen, i rarely sketch with pencil, manly so i can improve.

letters

So i do apologize for not posting for a week or two, things kind of went crazy, but I'm back. so I did some illustrations for my type class the are based on some letters S is smile, F for frowning, let me know what you think! I personally like the letter S and i think i might revisit the letter F but so far I'm A-okay with it...

Graphic Design try?

So I have been trying a graphic design approach, I like this, i might try to make more graphic design pieces for my portfolio

books.

So for my type and image class we had to do a book cover, at first i choose a book called The Wind Done Gone. I loved this book. I read this book in middle school. However i felt that my sketches and my ideas were not were i wanted them to be. Soooo I changed the book to Roots, I know, a huge change, but i really had a better idea with it. so here is what i have so far. I think i might go in with some charcoal on the fist and change some type, but i like the colors.

submissons

so i just submitted two pieces to the graduation show for SCAD you could also go to http://scad-illu-sav.blogspot.com/ to get more information. I hope i got in. i think i labeled everything right. I'm really excited. i know the pieces are really cohesive, but i think that's because of the media. These piece are from different class the wine labels are from last quarter, i cropped the name of the wine off, and put them together to make them one piece, thats not cheating, right? The other piece is a book cover i did last year for my book illustration class, i really loved it. Its based on the French tail blue beard, but i tweaked it to take place in Haiti instead.

so we shall see what happens. ill let you guys know.

so my professor said he liked my envlope and the idea of the buisness card, but to change some things, so i did, and here they are...

sketch work.

so my friend Dakota has this website for fashion advice, and she said they needed a logo, so i sketched them out for her, she said she loved them but she hasn't said anything since. Still i might go further with them anyway just in case.

letterhead

so i have been work on my professional portflio that includes everything. lol. well so far i have a logo, and envelope, and a letterhead, for my letters, and resume. I also have my business card done. i like it.

what to paint, what to paint

So i am kind of in a stump. I really want to paint, i bought 4 new canvases that i am so stoke to use, but nothing to paint on them!

so i sent a mass email to my email contacts hoping they will help a sister out, granted most of them are family members, but you never know who they know.

anyways here is some wine labels that i did for a class, i think i might change the type. but im liking. my mom reaction "is this because this is what happens to you when you drink to much wine?" no mom, but we can say it is. My dads reaction, "DRUNK".

so here i go. last quarter at school time to get it all set up. This is my logo. i like it. i had been

working on it for a while it started out with pen work then ended here. its kind of a self portrait, when i had long hair.

so i am at a stand still with my art. I'm to focused on other things right now, things i should not be focusing on. people. my future.

oh god, my future. i have no idea where exactly where i should go, i want to do so many things but i am afraid that I'm not good at those things, or at least not good enough. plus I'm scared that i will, well, be poor, or stuck. stuck doing something that i don't want to do. i dont want to work at a retail store forever, or like at 36, in fact by 36 i hope that i am so much further then that.

but we shall see.

as for my art we shall see how that goes, the Vernissage is coming up in Lacoste, and according to some of my friends who have already been to Lacoste, illustrations don't sell. well. great. however i am greatfull that i will be able to have some peices in it so i can say that i have had art in a gallery.

a new style? maybe. we will see.

so i think i might try this as a new style, the line work is fun to do. however, idk. what do you think.

vernissage

so i have been really stressed lately. maybe its because of the Vernissage coming up. word on the street is that illustrations don't sell. usually it goes to photography and prints. ugh.

im stuck. i dont know what to draw.
